What a beautiful day!  We all had a wonderful and fun day playing in the mud  :smt003  Everyone went home with his limit of clams.  Looking forward to another clamming trip in near future.  Here are some proofs of how much fun we've had  :smt005

I had an awesome time yesterday hanging out with “the Screws”.
I waited a whole year to be able to finally attend one of these hookups and
I wasn’t going to let this one come and go without me attending.
We got there to a minus tide and overcast skies. After gearing up and paddling out to the flats we quickly began digging. It wasn’t long before the 1st and largest clam was dug up by Sonny. I helped in the digging process but there was no way I would have fit that far into the clam tube to retrieve that puppy.

It was constant digging, bailing and wallowing in sand and mud………pure heaven  :smt003.

I had so much fun I didn’t want it to end but the incoming tide was the determining factor. Before departing we got to sample some of the bounty sashimi style out on the flats.

We then all headed back to chill with good food and drink and greater friends.

Thanks guys for letting me tag along.  :smt008

Sonny, Thanks for posting all of the great pictures.  A great time was had by all who were there.  The clams seem to be getting deeper each time we go.  I wonder if the minus tide on Memorial Day with "capacity" clam diggers made them a little more difficult to get to.  I cleaned mine last night and will be making sushi today and chowder tomorrow.  There are a few good minus tides over the next couple of months.  I think there could be another Loose Screws clamming hook-up in the not-to-distant future.

Thanks again LS for posting the hookup. I had a great time digging in the muddy sand and potluck afterwards was even better.

Sonny, you are the man! He would tell us about 3 finger holes and all we had to do was dig.  :smt001

Well done guys.  I crab the bay a lot but never clammed there.  Great story and photos.
