Reno/Truckee/SLT etc.

Any kayak anglers on NCKA living this far north? I would like to get a group together for frequent hookups. I am new to kayak fishing but have already fished many of the lakes around Reno. Going to Stampede tomorrow. Antelope Lake is one of my favorites.  Looking forward to a salt water experience someday.

Thanks Abhunter...I'M fishing for other like minded members.  I have caught the shiz out of bass at Antelope Lake . Also was there for the record cat, ( I did not see it).  I hope we can find other NCKA members .

ben day-ho, I could not find your intro, but Welcome.  I live in Reno, work at Tahoe, and spend as many days off as I can visiting Ma Ocean fishin' with rod or my favorite method of  Spearingfishing  .  Have yet to post an AOTY freshwater species but plan on changing that this year.    As you will find out, there are a lot of knowledgeable and cool folks on this site.   Even though I have been yak fishn' and diving for decades I still learn something new every trip with these folks. I guess I am a student of my craft.     
Maybe meet for a beer and talk yaks and fishn'.

I'll be up there quite a few weekends this summer. My brother in law lives and owns a flooring co. In Reno and my son will be going to work for him during the summer so I should be visiting alot. I'll post a hookup if I can bring the yak and get out.

Thanks for the replies. I thought I was the only one here. I am pretty much gassed up for this yak fishing adventure...so I am all ears. I see lots of posts for hookups down south....but not much up here. I will post for a all members hookup soon, and lets see where it goes. Lets keep the thread going so we can get some idea of our numbers.

I've been offline from the site for some time but have recently been lurking around again... figured this was a good post to reply to.

Love Antelope, love Stampede.  How about big blue?  I will likely fish Tahoe out of Sand Harbor this afternoon (4-8).  I had some luck last week long lining a Mepps spoon in relatively shallow (25ft or less) water.  Fish were holding 10ft or less.  Bagged to nice 18 inch bows and threw another back.  i doubt the fish will be that shallow for long.

I will keep an eye out for hookups in the area.

Just got home from Stampede. Fish won. Wind came up at 11:  (not bad) but I made for shore. No one had a fish that I talked to.
