Thanks for the link.

Just an FYI for those that aren't aware.  I believe 2006 and older outbacks had hull issues where it cracked in the drive well.

That is correct and after owning a 2005 and then a 2012 the difference in the hull design is night and day! It is worth the extra time and money to find a newer model. $1300 for a older model is not that great of a deal IMO..

I had 2005 and 2008 (after hull change), but for some reason, I liked the older one better.  The ride was definitely more comfortable in the older one.  But the small front hatch was basically useless on the older models.

$1300 does seem a bit high for a 2005 outback though.

If you do end up getting an outback, definitely look for 2007 or newer.  Also, I recommend getting the turbo fins, because the outback is kinda slow.  If you like to go fast as Ricky Bobby does, then I'd say skip the outback and go for a revo.  I recently upgraded from the outback to the revo and it was definitely an improvement IMO.

The odd thing to me is how right in the backyard of NCKA, there is a fully rigged Hobie, and it is not on this site first. That tells me all I need to know about that yak.
