It has been less than a week since I bought my Revo and I'm itching to try it out.  Just have pfd, but Vhf radio coming, no ff or gps.  want to go somewhere to paddle safely to practice. Any recommendation somewhere near Alameda?  Thanks

You can take it to one of the east bay regional park district lakes and practice self rescue and learn the best way to get back on. You can try Del Valle, Shadow Cliffs, Quarry... First thing I did when I got my yak was testing stability and my movements to see what the limits are in the boat. You don't want to have to find this out while on the Salt.
