Okay, I'll tell on myself. I was making this kickass bait bucket (which I will post pic's of later) when I decided that I needed to drill a little hole in this little piece of plastic. I had to hold the plastic piece in my left hand (fingers) while I drilled. The bit I was using was a little dull for plastic, but real sharp for flesh. Yep, I put the drill bit through the index finger of my left hand. Fortunately, it only went in half way, so it only bled from the one side. To help subside the pain, I had my wife kiss it, but it didn't work. Looking back on it, I think I would rather not have drilled my finger. Oh well, what's done is done.

CHEERS!

Well,here it is,

This is the WalMart pump (about $11).

Ran the wires through the hose.

And I used a sprinkler head for the outlet into the bucket.

This is one project that I am very much looking forward to.

I love seeing all the different solutions that people come up with for bait tanks.

I think I need to go large as I plan to use mine as a livewell for LMB also.

The only issue I found with the WalMart pump is the pump has plenty of volume, but little pressure. With the sprinkler head off, it pumps a butt load of water, but as soon as I put the sprinkler head on, the volume cut way down. That is why I drilled my finger, which had a fairly high volume also.

I'm still on the fence about powering the pump. I'm not sure if I'm going to make a little rechargeable battery pack that hooks to the bucket, or exchange two of the rivets on one of the strap holders near the back of the yak with some bolts that stick out. Then I can run wires inside the yak from the fish finder battery to the bolts (one positive and one negative). Then i can just solder on jumper cable ends to the wires and clip them to the bolts. I'd have to use stainless steel bolts to prevent rust, but I think it will work.

CHEERS!

The tube from your pump to the bucket is pretty long.  Shorten it up and you might get some more umph from the pump.
