Hi all I'm new to this group and kayak fishing. I'm usually a river and lake guy and decided to broaden my horizons. I live in Santa Cruz and I'm looking for anyone to hookup with and learn some new techniques. I went out last Saturday to the kelp beds outside pleasure point but had no luck. So if anyone ever needs a buddy I'm usually available most days.

Welcome Seasquatch!  Now that rockfish season is underway, you will find a lot of hookups around your area so keep an eye out for them.

I'm jealous to know that you're available to fish most days!!

Good luck, hope to see some salt reports from ya.
If you ain't first, you're last.

Welcome to the group. I am new as well but I've been out a bunch lately and normally have pretty good luck with rockfish and lingcod. I am paddling out tomorrow, Thursday the 23rd at about 6:30 if you want to join me. I will be heading either to the mile buoy or down the coast a little to this big round buoy, coast guard I think. Both are only a 30min or so paddle. Let me know what you think. Good luck either way.

Welcome SeaSquatch!  :smt006  I live up in the hills and plan on doing a lot of SC/Cap fishing this year.  I usually post a hookup (like this Fri) but feel free to PM me anytime.  Be happy to take you out!  Unfortunatly there are no guarntees for fish in SC though  :smt044

Hey Seasquatch!!! Welcome to the madness. We go to SWS a lot too. Capitola is always nice but fishing pressure is a bit high there with all the boat rentals. I can let you know the next time we go to SWS.

Launching from the harbor launch ramp on the west side of the harbor is very convenient. The only draw back is that it is sometimes monitored and they want a $10 launch fee. The best option is to find someone with access to a dock and go with them.
