Carolina rig - I use a 12# flouro/mono leader if going only for cats.

Jumbo minnows, night crawlers, crawdads, mackeral, sardines all work well.

Lots of big fish to 22 lbs caught during the annual catfish tournament last weekend.  Been windy but forecast to lay down a bit this weekend.  Have fun.

Craw dads or the fresh meat from the tail. Shrimp works really good to.
Honestly you will probably get the best info at a local baits hop up there.

Hahhahaahah Craig I can see that now.... Chicken livers work well too. Road kill that is ripe... Toss it out there they will come. Caught a BIG one on a dead road tenderized Rat once :smt005 :smt005 :smt005
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

Catfish are like the bear at GS7 ...they will eat just about anything. As a Kid we used to go into Thrifty Drug Stores for the 5 cent a scoop ice cream cone (yup, I am that old). The trick was to  get your buddy to sniff  the jar of catfish bait (stiiiiinky!!!) and then grind the jar on the end of his nose and run for the hills. That stuff stuck with you for awhile.. :smt003
