In August I'm taking my karate club to the mountains for our annual summer camp.  This year I'll also be taking my new Hobie Outback.  :smt004  In the past we've gone to Pinecrest Lake, up by Dodge Ridge, but this year we're trying a new spot: Bass Lake, just south of Yosemite.

Never having been there myself, I was wondering if any of you had fished there before?  If anyone has any tips I'm all ears!  :smt001

Thanks!

when i was going to school at fresno state i used to mtn bike and fish at bass lake. it was so close. i fished from the rocks and didnt catch a thing but it was fun.

the part i hated were all the kids on jet skis and waverunners cutting all over the lake. they really stir up the water and its not all that big.

nice place to go though. good hiking and fresh air. nothin like good fresh clean air!

If you're going to be there over the weekend in August, leave your yak at home.  the lake easily sees 100 power boats and as many waverunners each weekend day.  It used to be quiet durring summer weekdays, but I was there tuesday and spent my time surfing 3 foot wakes (and I was inside the bouy line).  The fish weren't cooperating either, I fished the docks without a bite, the shallow end was no better...  send me an email if you want more info
