What's up folks?

I'm curious if anyone has tried this "Tallon Elite" fish finder mount? It looks like an awesome all in one system that handles the mounting and cable pass-through all in one. Curious how water tight it (and/or corrosion resistant) it is, and what size hole I would need to drill.

Here's a link:

Any thoughts?

Kind of pricey for a modified Ram Mount.  I would worry about it corroding in the salt.

Almost the price of a decent FF already. You can probably do something similar to that yourself for a fraction of the cost. It's amazing how expensive these accessories are.

Jeez, you're right. I didn't see that price (nor did I shop around at all).

I think I'll stick with the standard ram mount and one of those cable pass-throughs from Hook1.

Picking up a new Hobie Outback on June 1st :)

I just installed on of those on the hatch if my Cuda. I love it. I wouldn't cut those monster holes in the kayak itself but looks good on the center hatch. Little pricey but worth it for my application. Think I got it from gpscity.com.

Thanks, LipRipper!

That looks like a lot more hole than I want to drill into my boat, but it looks real nice on your hatch. Nice work!

Your welcome bud. I looked back to see where I ordered it from and it was actually Kayakfishingsupplies. Just in case you decide to bless your boat with holes  :smt002

I bought my kayak rigged with one already.  I don't think I would have bought one myself because I'm a "cheap skate".  I like it, but I would rather have something more low profile.

To each his own - there are cheaper ways to I'd it, but, if you want it clean - spend the money.  No issues with corrosion in the salt, simply maintain connections the same as you would for your fish finder.
