(late report no home internet access at the moment)

launched Bolinas around 8:30  Fished mostly along the reef to the buoy and toward Rocky Pt a mile or so, 1 shaker and one black on the fbr

Out of maybe 15 or so boats I talked to 3 had fish(1,2 and 4) otherwise everyone gave the thumbs down including one of the party boats that was there

Interesting thing at one point I found the bait boiling and a few boats joined me, within a half hour or so there was a line of bait arcing around from just inside the buoy and stretching toward rocky pt maybe a mile, pretty wild

I trolled it high and low and even tried mooching it for a while for nada After a couple hours of being mystified I coaxed one of whatever was chasing bait up next to the yak,  looked like a big jacksmelt or something The whole time I was wondering where are all the birds? Not a single pelican showed up and very few divers Seems like they're pretty scarce this year

Anyway there's a lot of food waiting there when the salmon show up Sounds like the commies are taking a lot of big fish further north

When I saw the surfers lined up across the mouth of the lagoon I knew landing was gonna be fun

I tried to sneak inside on the Bolinas side and next thing I knew I was riding about a 5 footer pretending like I was in total control and planned it that way as I skidded up the beach Gonna have to get myself a surf yak when the wife isn't looking

The mouth was Ugly with a ripping ebb and break coming in on top pretty fast Not a good place for kids and dogs plenty of whom were around

ciao

somebody on coastside is saying the commies are getting big fish up north

something ought to show up soon and when they do it should be interesting   Last year was my skunkiest ever til this year rolled into action  2 skunks running

This is the year of the dog but they should rename it the year of the skunk

jselli  was he out Saturday? I pretty much stuck within a mile or so of the buoy and thought about going in to gull rock vicinity but was feeling pretty lazy
