Hello NCKA's!

My name is Thao Tran from Alameda, CA.  I have been living here in the Bay Area for almost 30 years.   I did most of my fishing in South Florida during my high school days, fishing for Snooks, Sunshine Bass, Croakers, Moonfish, Cobia, Cudas, Jacks, Runners and everything I can get my hands on.  Fishing was my crazy obsession and Snook fishing was my main target.  I did so much fishing that I forgot to go to school.  : )

I didn't have a lot of money, so fishing was limited to shores fishing; piers, inlets, intra-coastal, bridges, spillways and empty lots.  Got the nickname, "Grocery Fisherman" from friends making fun of me for taking bait fish home to eat.  I just can't pass up steamed/fried baby blue runners, pan fried sand perches and croakers.... GOOD EATING!

In February,  we bought an RV to spend time shaperoning my son to his tennis tournament and I started fishing again after all these years.  I caught my first bass followed by a 5.5 lbs LMB 45 min later at Lake Camanche...Very cool!!    Anyway, still deciding between a hobie revolution 13 or adventure and hope to join you soon!

Kayak fishing is too much fun. You will regret the day you left the shore and jumped on board!

Welcome to NCKA   :smt006

By the way, love them fried croakers too.

Your kayak choice will be a win win. They're both great for fishing.

Welcome
You might want to consider a paddle yak first. 1/3 the price of a Hobie!
Also Kayak fishing takes a bit of getting used to due to the limited space. You'll probably donate a lot of gear to the bottom of the Ocean, when you first start. A Hobie has a lot less deck space than paddle kayaks, so it's even trickier.

In the game of biggest fish, if you can't enjoy routinely gettin' your ass handed to you, by great fishermen, then you don't belong in the NCKA.
