Wet headed out by the green can only to find out that we could not find much of the kelp beds....I remember it being thick out there. Anyway, we met up with John / JTF and his buddy Phong. We fished different areas until we found a hump in 18 feet of water. I got a legal ling, a nice black, a blue, a greenling and a gopher and Brian got a nice Cabby. Too bad none of us had GPS - as soon as we drifted pass the hump, we could not find it again :smt011

Brian's Cabezon measured almost 22 inches long  :smt007 At the end of the day, he caught a few more RF to add to his stringer....

The conditions were humpy early in the morning but got better by noon. The sun was out and it turned out to be a nice day. We also met a kayak surfer named Tim at the parking lot and he paddled out to see how we were doing......we were close enough to the swells where they were playing  :smt118.......he may join us on the derby on Sunday.

On our way back we saw Vince, Anthony and 2 other guys fishing the mouth of the Harbor - don't know how they eneded up doing.

We (Brian,John,Phong and James) ended up at Ono's Hawaiian Grill for some afternoon grubbin  :smt007

Mooch - what do you do with many fish you have caught -- Smoke, eat, give away, freeze etc.? You had string of reds, then a big halibut, now lings.  I am jealous.  :smt002

I usually:

1) have my co-worker smoke the RF and we have it for lunch the next day
2) give 'em to my Mom - who LOVES to eat fish
3) give some to my former neighbor at HMB - an older retired fisherman - a great guy who talks a lot about how good the fishing WAS  :smt003
