Just finished working 6 out of the last 7 days in the ICU...I get the next 9 days off (gotta love a nurse's schedule) and want to hit Buck's lake. I have a long 'honey do' list, but want to get a day in fishing. Wondering if anyone has info on access to the lake...I wouldn't think that its still frozen over, but you never know. I did hear they plowed all the road accesses a week ago.

Plan B is Almanor

We used to go the first week in may. Probably not frozen now. Inflated crawlers on a Carolina rig produced some fine rainbows by the creek inlet nearest the road before bucks lodge.

Fished there a couple times but not with great success years ago. Would love to go back and give it a try at some point.

Will be looking forward to your report Murf

Word is that the road is plowed all the way to the lodge (maybe even beyond) and the lake is ice-free.  The local newspaper showed some guys with some nice 7-10 pound Mackinaw caught last week  :smt007.

I may still make the jaunt to Buck's for some Mac's? Take the Low Road if your going out of Quincy. Lower Rd. is the better of the two Higher/Lower.
Go get em.
