If you go with a ten AA power source, these are the best I have found.

I use a LiFePO4 battery for my FF, pricey but light weight. I use the Tenergy AA for my handheld GPS and it will run more than 12 hours.
Those are good on paper, but I purchased 30 of them and only a handfull ever fully charged to their max capacity, and several of them died on me after fairly short use.  Many many complaints on the net about Tenergy and their horrible products.

These are the best one's that I have found, and I personally have seen them charge higher than the 2700mah they are rated for.

I was looking online at walmart and I noticed I have a choice. Some batteries list a .250 tab terminals, others are .187 and others don't say. Does it matter which size terminals I choose? Thanks Ken

Either should be fine.  You have to put the clips on your FF wiring anyway, so just match the clips to the terminals.

Wider tabs are obviously going to be more durable... may go that route.  Other than that it make no difference.

Battery Bill out near Richards and 160 heading out of downtown will probably have something. I have also bought small 12v batteries at Battery World 5132 Auburn Boulevard, Sacramento, CA 95841. I know for a fact Battery World had all kinds of small wheelchair style batteries which are perfect for running a fish finder all day.
And you could hear me screaming a mile away as I was headed out for the door....

Would this be a good choice for my Humminbird 581 HD DI Combo unit, or is it overkill? $36.29 at walmart.
