LOL my dad smashed my first album(Doors debut) when he came home and it was playing loudly on the Magnavox console.

I first heard that song on the USS Coral Sea in the Tonkin Gulf in 1971.  A great time for music, not such a great time for many people.  Yah, I'm even older than Bird!

ya I was dating myself (mostly) in the 70's as well. 

Wow a lot of us here Graduated H.S. in 71. I wouldn't have missed the 60's and 70's for nothing. That was when you could fish when you wanted to and mostly where you wanted to. Among many other things that you can't do today. So I'm almost 60 and out yaking when I can.

I still can see the UFO's coming when I hear "Here they Come", must be a flash back from the Shrine Auditorium.  '67 graduate.

Concerts at the Shrine.  What a memory; the place was a "hole" and it wasn't uncommon for people to be puking on the foor.  I remember seeing Frank Zappa and The Mothers of Invention there. 

  I'm gonna dig out the vinyl now.   

Thanks for the inspiration Alvin Lee. Happy trails to the "fastest guitar in the west". Ten Years After will remain an essential part of a rock and roll education.
