Typically on Thursday night when my wife turns on Grey's Anatomy that's my queue to grab a beer and head to the garage to play with tackle, but tonight's episode is one I'm encouraging everyone to watch.  The story line centers around the challenges with diagnosing a young boy suffering from Kawasaki's Disease.  This story hits close to home, as my 4-year old went through 13 days of mis-diagnosis, leaving him with long-term health issues.  Fortunately his heart avoided damage, but we have spent the last few months bouncing from Davis to Stanford in an attempt to pinpoint the source of resulting auto-immune disorder.

If symptoms are recognized within the 10-day "golden window", treatment and complete recovery are very successful.  The problem lies in the fact that the disease can mimic so many others, resulting in days of mis-diagnosis.

Anyways, check it out.  At the least you'll pick up some WAF points for watching your wife's show for a change.  :smt001
