Planning to hit RV early on Sunday morning, and stay out all day, Launching off of 84. Hitting the water early, around 0700. Soaking bait during outgoing and slack, and gonna try some more trolling after. Company welcome, and if anyone wants to arrange some sort of carpool, I can haul 2-3 yaks in my truck.

Should be a strong outgoing tide from 7:30am until around 1, so there's a good chance at sturgeon! Any and all company is welcome

So this morning actually seemed promising, with me missing a hookup, and 5 separate small bites. Around 11am the outgoing tide was ridiculously strong. My anchor got snagged, and the was no way it was coming free. Combined with the current, I was in a dangerous spot, with my PA leaning as I tried to free my anchor. Damn near tipped over, and had lots of water spilling over the side. Was forced to let it to, and got to watch my anchor, 150ft of line, spool, and float all disappear. Oh we'll, shit happens. Sure is better than going for a swim...looks like trolling it is now!

Headed back to my launch spot to drain the water out and eat my lunch, hopefully the trolling yields better results.

Wish I would have known that, I would have came over and gave you a hand pulling it up. Hate to see someone lose gear. That current was crazy strong! I had to use 125ft of rope to grab hold iin 72' of water. I had trouble getting it free, but used the trolling motor and got above it and worked it free

I watched another boat snag a big 3" round rusted steel cable with his anchor. Glad they got all 60' of it into the boat and took it with them instead of dumping it back in the river

Yeah, that current was seriously ripping...I couldn't even turn into it and peddle upstream to get a better angle on the pull without letting go of my anchor. I ended up just letting it go and hoping that the current wouldn't pull the float under, but I wasn't so lucky. I got to watch it shoot underwater and disappear. Oh well, time for a new setup!
