got back from 5 days of fishing and drinking outside juneau, alaska.  i have never seen so much calm water.  10 people in our group, we had 3 18 foot aluminum boats.  we fished about 12 hours a days, it was hard work but we enjoyed it.  we wanted halibut; we fished hunks of herring 200feet down while anchored. the first 2.5 days i caught about 30, but the biggest was only 30lbs, most were 10lbs, it was disappointing. our groups biggest were 65, 61 and 55 lbs.  then i switched to salmon and it was a slaughter. we were allowed 6 silvers, 6 pinks and 6 chum salmon i think.  i caught about 40 combined in the last few days, all under 10 lbs.  the boats were covered in blood and guts.  it was great fun, but next time i go to alaska it will be in search of bigger fish.

Wow.  Catching fish is good.  Did you bring fish home?  If so, how?

they freeze the fish and box it, then  it becomes checked luggage at the airport.  we  had 600lbs of fillets, but we only made it back with less than 500lbs, we suspect some monkey business at the lodge.

yeah, the airlines limit luggage to 50lbs a piece, if it weighs more, then you pay more. we came home with 10 boxes that weighed 50 lbs each.
