Take plenty of money, it is $21 for one person in a kayak to fish there.

Amador can be a zoo on weekends with a lot of power boaters concentrated in a small lake.  Wear bright colors and I would also recommend some kind of flag for your yak.  You can get away from most of the PB'ers by hitting the coves. 
Fishing is cheaper than therapy!
