We got the mnt bikes at 10, heading downriver from nimbus hatchery, checking for sweet spots, ending up at the raft-ramp at Fair Oaks bridge, caught a 3 inc sucker and bobber-fished, very relaxing, talking smack with the endless line of rafters(looks like a fun time) when out went the drag. Only have 12 lb test so I let him run a few times before I landed him. Had an audiance of 20 people who I think never saw a fish outside of safeway, pretty funny. 20 inches. Very tasty.
There are lots of freindly ducks and one big white one so I thought id would be cute to chum with my corn flakes and sure enough. Releasd of course and not freaked out one bit. I think he wanted us to take him home.
How about a reggatta down that river? Nice water. Ben

Nice fish... and duck. Looks like Aflac.

Surprised there aren't any rafters in the pics. We saw a bunch on the river this afternoon.

Tons of rafters, we wanted a shot without em. We have some shots of HUGE rafts, with ladders, baech chairs, the works.
Looks like a blast.

Nice fish and duckie...

I was on the American this past Saturday on my first rafting trip. It was a blast, the water was a lil cold though. But it was very welcomed in 100 degree weather. I seen a lot of kayaks out there, even a five year old girl in her very own 4 or 5 foot yak, complete with skirt and everything. She was handling the yak very well.

Tiny little hook and a peice of fleese.. Yeah, that water is good and cold, it feels great when its blazing like that.
I think a mbf regatta would be a blast. Complete whith a beer raft/ bar car and some good 'ole Jerry Garcia tunes wafting out.

Sounds like a plan...
my girls is planning another trip in about 2-3 weeks or so...and I'm definately bringing my kayak last time.
Seeing the lil girl in her very own kayak was a trip...
