3/10 Sandy Beach Stripers (Non-Yak)

Went to the Sandy Beach area (Rio Vista) yesterday to target Stripers with a buddy in his boat.  I picked up a very hard fighting 14 lb'er early and we both got a 5 lb'er later in the day.  Perfect day on the water, no wind and flat calm.  Temps were in the 70's and not too many boats on the water for a weekend.






I noticed that my swivel snap was popped open when we got the 14 lb'er on board, luckily I was able to keep pressure on the big one to get it in the boat.  Time to toss those snaps and get some durolocks! 

Bait?  Lures?

I've had the same problem with those snap swivels bending/opening

Used deep diving broken back Rebel, red head and blue top with crystal sides.  The big guy straightened one treble out, amazing I was able to bring it to the boat with a screwed up hook and snap! 
No idea on the water temp as we were in a fiberglass boat with a shoot through the hull transducer. With the Stripers as active as they were I would guess the water was in the mid 50's?
