Has anyone been out there recently? I haven't been on the water since last July, thought I'd look for some mutant trout.  Hoping to launch by 7-ish

Company and/or suggestions welcome.

Was there with Dilbeck, Babdymanben, Newyakr, and a friend Monday.  I got two fatties, Ben one, Dilbeck got a nice 19.5 " football.   We worked hard all day trolling.  There was no rhyme nor reason as to what they would bite.  I got one on a J-7 in gold/black, the other on an ultralight minnow in fire tiger.  I think Dilbeck got his on a grub,  and I believe Ben's was on on jointed rapala also,  in black and silver.

I was there on Monday and it was slow.  In our group, there were 4 fish caught for 5 people.

And there wasn't much of a pattern either.  Talking with other fisherman, fish were caught on firetiger grubs, wooly buggers, rapalas, and I caught a decent fish on a spoon.  I also had 2 takedowns on a modified white grub.

What I can say is that all 4 of our groups fish were caught in the mouth of Doney Bay.

Best of luck and when in doubt, change your presentation.

Thanks for the info!

Were the fish mostly on top?

What is a modified grub?

Yeah, I'd say the fish were mostly on top.  Probably in the top 5 feet.

Because I've been reading so much about the shad bloom at the lake, I took a little 2" white grub and a sharpie and put a black streak down the back.  I didn't have any other colors otherwise I might have tried gray or green.

Went twice last week in a boat (Monday and Thursday).  Toplined at 1.5 mph both trips using a F5 broken back Firetiger.  Two of us ended up with 4 to the boat on Monday, we each got three Thursday.  Had one hit Monday that damn near knocked the rod out of the holder, did not stick though.  No one area was a hot spot for catching, caught fish all over the lake.
Make sure you run a flag or bright colors so the power boaters don't run over ya!
