Fisherman's warehouse carries 3 and 400lb monofilament and crimps that can be used for shooting lines.  $20 got me a 50 yard spool and a 15 pack of crimps.

Is the FW stuff clear or is it dyed?  Try this stuff out next time you need large mono.  I scored one of the 675 yd spools on ebay last year for around $50.

It's clear for now.  I don't really expect to go through it very quickly since it only takes ~3 yards to string my guns, and I don't trust mono that's sat around more than a few years; so I didn't  want to buy a huge spool online.
