The power supply to my wife's Windows 7 desktop was fried so I bought her a new Windows 8 desktop, to say Windows 8 is different is an understatement, it seems more like a smart phone to me.
Anyone else running Windows 8 yet?

I bought a new Windows 8 machine a few months ago, as a backup. I rarely use it. Still learning all about Windows 7. Bad thing (for me) about the Windows 8 OS is that most of my programs will not run on it, for lack of working drivers. It's really meant for people who bought their computers with touch screens.

So I'd say my girlfriend and I are pretty darn tech-forward. Grew up with it and am comfortable in almost every computer platform there is. But Windows 8 still blows my mind, at least it doesn't make sense why they put it on desktops/laptops. The OS is great for smartphones/tablets I feel, but anything that doesn't have a touchscreen seems really inappropriate. Thankfully she does have a touchscreen on her Win8 rig, but it's still not comfortable for me to use. Also took us about an hour of googling to figure out how to shut it down. It really sucks that most mfg's aren't making any premade rigs that run Win7 still.

Damn guys, just buy a Mac and be done with it.

I bought a MacBook Pro a few months ago and I will never go back. Well worth the money.

Took me a while to learn on my own but 2 years ago I assembled my 1st PC and had never looked back...I guess I'm one of those that like to "roll their own"... Assembling a PC from the pieces you want and with the software that you want is not only rewarding but I truly recommend it to everyone.
BTW Win7 rocks
