Some great suggestions, thanks all.

I think I'll go with the waterproof bluetooth earbuds from iKross.

Cheers!
Highly don't recommend ear buds while yakking. Music is great but when your hearing is plugged it can be dangerous.

That's something to keep in mind, and the whole silence is best observation as well.  I just do 95% of my fishing alone in Pacifica.  I guess it would be nice to hear Mr. GWS sneaking up on me, or would it?  :smt005

you'd be surprised. My main encounter was preceded by a big swirl and the associated "whoosh" of a bunch of water moving around. I heard it before I saw it.

I use one of those small waterproof Plano boxes for my Iphone and a Rocketfish Bluetooth headset.  The cool thing is I can throw the box with my phone down in the hatch and not only listen to the tunes but I can answer my phone from the headset also.

Forgot to add. I clip my phone to my lifejacket and listen to my tunes on speaker. My phone is insured so if I take an unforeseen swim I can get a new one :p also I peddle a hobie so I don't have to worry about water dripping from the paddle.

+1 on the Grace Audio Eco Extreme. This is what I use ...I actually have two of them one for the kayak and one I use when riding my bike.

Amazon has them for $34 with free shipping

My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

Solo missions can get lonely, so i've taken my iPhone out with me many times to listen to Pandora OTW.  I just keep it in a zip-lock back inside a small dry bag behind me in my crate.  It's not very loud, but doesn't have to be.
