grunion spawns are so cool, grew up chasing them in socal, we have a run at our house in san felipe, not sure if they are true grunion but they sure seem to be the same creature, but doesnt seem to be in their range, anyone know for sure, cameron

Grunion runs are on the 100 things you must do before you die list and I couldn't agree more.  In 2006, my wife and kids were lucky enough to be at ground zero for a run.  I consider it one of the coolest things I have ever done.  Considering my kids still talk about it 6 years later, yeah it is that cool.

I can't agree more, its an awesome site to see when they are in full effect.  I used to check it out almost every year with friends when I used to live in so-cal.

Just curious, do grunions run up this far north?  According to the link, it mentions as far north as Monterey.  Just wondering if they were grunion or something else I saw back in 2004 at HMB.  It was during July/August and I saw the same thing going on over a long stretch of the beach at night and it last for a few days from what I remember.
