I'm going to make a few phone calls in the morning and see if the Ice House boat ramp and parking lot are open/plowed out.  Also heard the lake, except in front of the dam was iced over so I want to see if that's thawed enough to use the ramp for a launch.  If it is open and ice free, I'm going to head up on Tuesday morning and stay the night camping.  Anyone who wants to join me, please feel welcome.

More on the conditions Monday morning...

I placed a few calls and the news is; the parking lot at the ramp is plowed and clear.  The ramp has ice on it but doable launching by hand.  The snow is very little.
I'll head up EARLY tomorrow morning and set right out to fish.  I'll have Marine 69 on.  Hope to post some fishy photos!!

I hear reports of Macks being taken at Union Valley, but UV is hard to fish from the dam launch.

Ice House is closer and I'm going to drop a crawdad trap or two overnight as well.

My goal; target some browns tomorrow, then maybe head to the back side and hike up Silver Creek and fish that.

Thanks!  More solitude than I first figured; DW says she isn't feeling well, so I'll be going on my own.  Why wait til morning?  I'm loaded and set to go, so I'm off and on my way up.

Get any craws? Or was the water too cold?

Just got home from fishing 3 days up there.  I'll post up a 'Members only fishing report' tomorrow when I can upload my photos to the web.

I got plenty of fish each day and today it was foggy, COLD and dead calm on the water.  Mirror smooth.  So cold today that I almost got trapped in the ice as it formed all around me.  Photos to come....

P.S. No 'dads'  The water must be too cold.  Water temps on the surface at freezing with ice forming on the rod eyelets making casting impossible by the third or fourth cast.  Ice built up around my yak if I sat there for a while too.  My worms froze solid!!  My swim baits froze solid too!  Next time I'll put more stuff inside the camper instead of outside in the yak.
