I was on the San mateo bridge yesterday on my way home from work at around 2:30pm, I saw tons of birds diving just south of Coyote Pt and also there were about 3 commercial boats working it. Hope the school move in closer to shore sometime soon.

There's a beach that is just north of that office building by the foot of the San Mateo bridge. That is where those kite surfer and wind surfer takes off from.

Thanks for the report.  Usually when I get the report, it's too late!

They are just starting to show in Crescent city and they typically stay for 4 to 10 days sometimes more.  I will post my catch in the next couple days.  I have a couple dyes and several scents that I will be brining up for a years supply of killer bait for salmon, rockfish, lings, halibut...

I saw a TON of birds between Tiburon and Sausalito yesterday.  There are a few launch spots in Sausalito that would be a short paddle, Schoonamker (SP?) Beach and also a public ramp right on Bridgeway next to the old Margaritaville restaurant - not sure what it's called now.

We motored out of Sausalito yesterday (2/10) through raccoon strait and anchored up at the south end of Paradise Beach Pier at about 1:30 under clear blue skies.
There were about 3,000 gulls and a dozen sea lions and seals at Bluff Pt, mostly sitting on the shore and floating in the tide rip. No dive-bombing, fish boil feeding frenzy at that hour.  At Paradise (north end of California City) another 3,000 gulls on the shoreline, and a dozen sea lions, but only one dive-bombing pelican and not much feeding activity. My sense was there might have been a spawning run a couple hours before and the gulls were hanging around picking off eggs in the dropping tide.

I trolled a broken back rapala and a flatfish from anchor for about an hour for no interest, and then tried to sabiki, but with 5 knots of current my line went out sideways.  We had a thrownet, but saw nothing to throw at.

No fish finder on board, and I think we would have only seen junk in the current if we had it.

Saw one other boat (a trophy 28 or so?) looking around but no one hooking up.

Don't know if any of that is of interest or helpful to anyone.
