So after spending the last 6 months of my kayak-fishing career in relatively calm waters, it's time I prepared myself for hitting the salt this May.

I'm looking to buy a VHF, Wetsuit (Not sure about size, I'm 6'1", 215lbs), and a new PFD. I'm happy with either new or used. Also, if anyone has seen any good deals on either of them in retail or across the web, I'd really appreciate the info.

Thanks!

Keep an eye on craigslist and put up a "wanted" ad.

Thanks, but I think the 2XL would be a bit big on me, especially in a few months.

Check this one out, it is better than the farmer john I just bought from them for $70. I wish they had it when I was looking...

Make sure the farmer John wetsuit you're getting HAS a relief zipper. Being in the salt and no way to discharge can be real frustrating.

Decided to go with the Uniden MHS75 floating/waterproof VHF http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001J5MQ20/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00

Planning to call Headwaters tomorrow to check on those wetsuits.

Thanks everyone for the continued advice!
