Repost from Jim's site, kayak4fish:

Would you join a trip to San Clemente Island on a mother ship?
We have been approached to host a mother ship trip to San Clemente Island aboard the Islander. This would be a 1 1/2 trip which means we would arrive at the island before light and leave after dark in the evening. To me this is a must, on a one day trip you really only get 1/2 day of fishing, and if you have ever been to the island you know that is not enough. A day and a half trips give us the opportunity to fish the morning bite take a lunch break and then fish the evening bite. You could also bring your free diving gear and go for a hunt with the spear gun.
The Islander is a top notch long range boat with state rooms not bunks, all meals are provided as well as bait. With a limit of 15 kayaks on the boat you will have a ton of room to yourself. We are not talking about regular fried galley food either, they have a real chef on board to prepare the meals.
The cost of the trip, all inclusive is $290.00 and will run in April, if we choose to go. Leaving Friday night and returning Sunday Morning.
I don't want to commit until I get some response that we could fill the trip.
Here is a link to the boat so you can check it out.http://www.islandersportfishing.com/

Thought I'd do Jim a favor and post it here if anyone is interested.

I'm waiting to see if this is going to happen and when.  If I can make it, I'm going.

Kevin,

I feel the same way. $290 for a mother-ship trip is a deal, too bad, we got to drive all the way down to La Jolla to enjoy it.

My problem would be scheduling, the additional travel time may be an issue for me.

Either way, reply to Jim that you're interested if you haven't done so.

sounds like this is actually a June trip, so I can't make it.  I have kayak to win...  This is the weekend of the kayak connection derby.
