Marlin wins, boat sinks

I saw this on yahoo, said the skipper had backed down. Years ago, I read an article in a  sportfishing mag, and it said explicitly,  a skipper should avoid "backing down."  As the stern of many boats is square, the water will actually come over the stern.  Creating a hazardous situation very quickly.

Backing down is pretty common, alot of the big sportfishers are beefed up in the stern and have transom doors to drain decks and boat large fish.  The article said teh skipper fell and likely dropped the throttle down hard as he went. 

Id venture that  all of the igfa line class records for sailfish and marlin are taken by anglers sittin in a barber chair while the boat backs down on the fish.










Half out the boat and the only one on deck......this guy is just an animal!
