Thats great info G-Whiz!
Do you apply the glue and the nail em? I'm assuming you have to glue a peice at a time as to let it set and then nail it right?
Once agian thanks for the info. Very kind of you.

no nails! apply the glue, align the pieces and the screw them together....

Here's all the supplies I used to build it (including a countersinking drill bit):

Finally got the multiple layers of Primer & Textured Paint done; including a light color (grey) for the amp area, in hopes that it will make the amp stand out when illuminated.

And, cut out the plexiglass cover to protect the amp...

Next gotta run the power wires and cables in the jeep, then the little "bass" will come alive!

the "manequin" in the background was when I use to take photography classes; doesn't move around much when doing lighting shoots.

I was planning on bringing it to a Shoot & Chill... but still waiting....

Wow!
That sweet baby looks great!
Great job on the box! Gonna have to try and build me a custom box.
Got a question if you don't mind. Why do some people invert the sub so that it faces into the box? Does the bass kick better that way?

mostly for "show"... but some claim you get lower frequencies because theres less resistance when the cone travels inward; but you run the risk of damaging the voice coil because there is no back pressure and some times soungs 'muddy' (unless you are using 'free air" types, but then you loose some of the 60-80hz frequencies and you loose the "punch"). there are trade offs; just depends on what sound you are trying to achieve.

I am going to a "tighter' bass sound ("thump"), because to much low frequecies will make all the loose gizmos and gadgets i carry rattle.

Here's the complete box (still have to purchase the right sub, probably go with JL or Cerwin-Vega) with the amp installed; added a little "bling" by installing led green lights... I post one more set of pictures when i finally install into into the jeep....

Sorry Sonny, this is not transferable between vehicles; I custom made it for my Jeep and the only time I take the Jeep with the kayak is to back country locations... and maybe to TC so I can drive on the beach :smt007 to unload.

Here's the final product installed in the Jeep; went with an Alpine sub to match the rest of the components (head unit and amp), plus they make a really cool grill cover to protect the sub from being damaged.

I know this really wasn't related to fishing or kayaking, but thanks for reading!
