Making an unplanned trip in a couple days down to Visalia and hoping to escape the in-laws and do some fly fishing on the Kings. Bringing a kayak on this trip is, unfortunately, not possible.

Anyone have some intel on where I can fish? Looks like there are several parks that should lend a hand to the bank-bound fly angler...

most of it is dried up this time of year. There are some ponds down stream in Lemoore off of the 198 near front gate of the  navy base. Lots of bass in there.

I have fished up river closer to Reedley.  The resort there used to be called Kelly's Beach.  The problem is the water level at this time of year as mentioned already.   Spinners like rooster tails and kastmasters work if there is water.

Not sure which days,
But if you are in town on a Sun or Mon, we can hit the S.J. which can really be great in the early months

Feel free to call me for intell.
Also, contact Derrick A2H or Impractical Fisherman, they both fish the kings often.

thanks for the heads up! I managed to get ahold of a couple guys from the kaweah fly anglers group and they got me hooked up with some good info. I'll only have a couple hours here and there, but I'm looking forward to hitting the banks again
