We'll my two boys decided to sleep in, sending me all alone to Lake Mendo on Fathers Day.  I was the first one on the lake with no bait. (no bait net... thus. no bait..) I had my trusty blue Zara Spook, and a pearl/purple shad zoom.  I jammed across the lake between the 2 buoys in between Long Point and Crappie Cove.  The boils were OUT OF CONTROL!!!  I tossed my Zara into the boil, and one hit it  knocking it about 1 foot into the air. No hook up.  I left it in the water and twitched it like a helpless little injured shad.  Then SMACK.. fish on.  He put up a good fight 7lbs.  I no sooner got him in the boat, and I had another huge boil behind me.  The Fish Gods took care of Dad today.  I tossed that Zoom bait into the boil and let it sink a few feet under the surface giving it the Ol' Injured Fish routine.   Bang!!!! number two was on and running.  He took half my spool, and swam deep off the ledge thats to the west of that area.  Got him in after 7 minutes and he was 8 lbs (+/-)  Limited at 6:32 AM, Not bad.  I got home and then the kids wanted in on the photo op.  Here they are

Sorry I missed the lake this morning and the lunch. I ran my ass off today going from call to cal to call. I did have the opportunity to cite a person for fishing without a license at the South boat ramp. It made me feel good when they got pissed and told me they didn't know they were required to have one.  Yeah....right!

I did hear the story about the 20+ pound striper story again from the inlet (Bushay camp ground entrance). I'd like to see the photo's.

CHEERS!

I posted a thing in the GEARING UP section of this site, with Pics on how to make the infamous GWKC knock off stand.  It works great.  Half the fun of this sport is trying to build or outbuild things they sell.    Its like a holster for a loaded kayak waiting for the next kill......
