Happy New Year to all!  I'm new to NCKA site with the initial goal of making some contacts for the Gimme Shelter Tourney.  I also expect to be heading down to CA for more fishing in 2013.  I'm on NWKA as Yaktrap.  Blowing my cover here, but I'm not trying to hide just wanted a new handle. Bit of my background; kayak fishing since 1971, my dad was part of the design team on the Royak back then he shared the stoke when I was 7 and it never died. Grew up in San Diego, lived in Nor Cal on the Russian River for a stint in 1996. Moved all around the planet, always found a kayak and a fishing pole where ever I went. Moved to Seattle 10 years ago from Africa, got married and raising a daughter here. Shared the stoke with my girl when she was 5, and she competed in her first Sprint Kayak Nationals last year. Still get out with my Pop once in a while, we even did an 11 hour day double session day back when he was 68 years old.  So as you might guess I don't expect to be slowing down anytime soon.

Looking forward to meeting some of the Nor Cal tribe.  I have plans to get down to CA more often this year for a variety of reasons, and want to make some contacts. I hope to be fishing with a lot of you in 2013.

Hehehe Welcome to southern NWKA. We have a lot of fun down here. I used to see Fred's royaks all over on the water off Sonoma coast in the 70's. I paddled a Malotte Scout2 back then. Hopefully you can make some events down here.  Gimme Shelter and Albion and Yakhoppers series and Crabfest are just a few of the good times to be had. Trinidad Rockfish Wars too! We live in Petaluma and spend alot of time on the salt at places you used to haunt I'm sure. Shout out when you are coming down this way or just to chat. I'd love to talk about the old days on the coast in Sonoma. Craig

There's never more than a degree or two of separation.  I have some good friends in Petaluma.  I'll PM you, I'm fairly sure you know them.

Thanks for the warm welcomes!
