ChuckE and I launched from Paradise- into the maw. Chuck picked up a dink off the breakwater, then Later I got one a bit bigger.  Chuck finally pulled it out, with a nice 20" or so in about 5-6 feet.  We also both managed a jacksmelt a piece on rattletraps!

We saw a number of stripers caught off the rocks by shore anglers.  I guess the word got out because they were all combat fishing side-by-side.

The water was surprising clear.  It should be ideal for halibut in not too long.

:smt071 Avoiding combat fishing is justification for owning a yak.  You guys need to take PICS!

Yup... I should have took pics of those guys on the shore and my modest 20" striper, but after seeing all those those Mendo striper photos,  I'm embarassed to take a picture of anything smaller.

BTW, it was quite satisfying to catch nice striper right in front of those guys just out of their casting range :smt019

There is nothing funner, except maybe outfishing a big pb!  On Friday I landed 3 fish in front of the bankies in my first 10 minutes.  I could hear them say...*!@*& he's go a 'nuther one !

Ey Scwafish - maybe you start passing out flyers of your kayak business to the bankies....if they keep seeing you catching all the fish - they might just get convinced to buy a kayak too  :smt023 (better option than buying a more expensive 15 ft aluminum boat)

OR - paint your website on your kayak's hull for even more exposure  :smt002

...just a thought  :smt002

Joel:  I have managed to convert one bankie.  The others don't live anything resembling an active lifestyle.  They are now "haterz"  :smt076 I do the best I can to torture them! :smt016

maybe haul some more kayaks on the lake and do a free demo? I'm sure you can "hook" and convert more bankies  :smt023 If and when you ever plan to do some thing like this - give me a call - I'd gladly you help you out.

I'm actually thinking of bringing my yak to the REI paddle demo day to display - hoping to expose our sport to the general public - and our site as well. Just need to get an approval from the boss  :smt002

Anyway, have fun torturing the bankies.....just watch out for those guys who can cast ACCURATELY....form a distance  :smt002 I hope to join you soon! Keep those reports and pics coming! :smt035

No offense intended... but Steve and I saw the crowd fishing Mendo from the bank... and Sean's right on.  Most didn't didn't look like the paddling type. :chug :beat ... but I'm use to it after living in Oklahoma for 8 years.
