Fly tying at Crabfest

I'll be tying up my go to trout flies and other flies Friday night and possibly Saturday and Sunday night.  If anyone wants to stop on by and see what I use or tie some flies themselves I will be in site 75.  I have a Fleetwood Storm rv and there will be a white NCKA flag flying over it.

If you have ever wanted to get into fly fishing come on by and I will tell you what I know.  I have been exclusively fly fishing for the last 6 years.  I hadn't touched any conventional gear until I went for lings.  Prior to the fly fishing I use to fish bass tournaments.  My passion is fly fishing, but I have no problems using conventional gear.  So if you have time, stop on by and say hi.

Dang Scott wish I was going! Would love to learn a few new patterns! Take pics or post a video please.

Plus I need some egg sucking leach patterns in purple hackle.

Matt, any time you wanna come by after work and do some tying just let me know.  I have never done a egg sucking leach, but it looks real easy to tie.  And you will like my trout fly, it uses 2 materials and has caught tons of fish for everyone I have given it to.  It works on everything from trout to bass to sunfish to carp.  I mainly use 2 flies when I go for any type of trout in a lake and this is my all time favorite.

Scott, I'm gonna come see your tying process. I've been doing a little bit myself, with some success.

Wish you werent in the next county this is something I tried early on, but with all my hobbies, it fell to the wayside. I was so amp back then, i even built me a nice tye stand too.

hmmmm... maybe a fly tying clinic before the Acoutic Jam sesion.....

I gonna try and swap my place for one of the first come spots in your county.  I called and they said if it is available I can trade.  So hopefully no one will grab the spot I want.

hey Ted, I still have it; but i plan to hang on to it "in case I ever" decide to pick it up again; plus that hobby does not take up to much space.....

I'll be sure to stop by. I've been flyfishing/tying/rod building for quite a few years now, and it's my passion too, although since I discovered kayak fishing, the fly time has taken a big hit. Just built my first switch rod and can't wait to put a bend in it, although I've got some work to do learning this  style of casting.
