This is actually a old report but since it's the slow season i figured i would post. Me and my brother went out with only a few hours to fish. We were using strictly the good old fashioned big hammers. We headed straight to our usually stomping grounds and we both hooked up on our first casts. I hooked something BIG. It was a solid thump and then a drag smoker. Whatever it was hit about 30ft off the bottom and went straight back down. After only having it on for a few seconds of non stop drag pullin the hooked popped loose. My brother brought in a nice sized tree fish. We continued to catch non stop blacks, vermillions and browns. I caught 2 more tree fish aswell. We also picked up a few short and barely legal lings. It was a load of fun, i can't wait for next season to do it all again. The halibut are going to feel the wrath of the big hammers this next year. I hope all of you have a good christmas and a hangover free new years ( that's prolly not going to happen though hehe).
