Any recommendations on where I should get my new kayak?

I've never owned a kayak before, but I've decided to take the plunge in July (when I get my mid-year bonus).  After 15+ hours of internet research, plus a visit to Outdoor World in (near?) Dallas during a recent business trip, I'm definitely going to be ordering an OK Prowler 13.  This forum has been an invaluable resource for fishing kayak info so I thought I'd troll for some ideas on where to get my first-ever kayak.

Price is important to me (that "pimp my civic" thread really caught my eye, lol), but I'd like to order from someone reputable that'll stand behind their product.  It'd probably be nice to order from out of state (I'm in Alameda, CA) to avoid the sales tax.  Anyone know if I can order online tax-free from REI if I take advantage of their free shipping to a local store?
If anyone has any suggestions I'd really appreciate it.

- Erich

Color suggestions are welcome, too.

Erich - talk to jason / jselli (from Pacifica) about good deals on Prowlers. I'll PM you his number.

IMO: get a yellow kayak - you want to be visible out there  :smt002

Welcome to the madness :smt003

My recommendation would be to skip it and go with a Malibu XFactor Kayak from Sean (www.gwkc.com).

Just my 2 cents.

CHEERS!
