Hows it going

Im lookin to get a fishfinder for my sitontop. I would like to attach it to my center console and run the transducer through a scupper hole.

I was wondering what modles may be reccomended for under $200 and also Im concerned about powering the unit.

I also have a pontoon boat and would would be great to get a unit that would be compatible. Any reccomendations would be greatly appreciated

what kind/model of yak? Some have scuppers that are large to fit Humminbird transducers for instance.

If you try a "Search" you'll find probably 100+ posts on this subject, covering many different models of kayaks

Right on Mike from Fresno

I have a preception tribe.

The scuppers are smaller than medium sized ocean kayak scuppers

I mostly fish horizontally for bass and trout in shallow water and like to keep the boat clutter free.

Appreciate any feedback

I will perform another search in more detail with greater patients but what i encountered was a bit dated

if you do not have a scupper/transducer cutout on the bottom of the yak for the transducer to recess into then it will be hanging out. This is a problem for me in loading, unloading, launching from a concrete ramp, in rocks, etc. Im sure in time it will hit and get broken. So, with that in mind you may want to consider a rear mount where the rudder area is, or a over the side mount. I did the over the side on my old yak and used a Liberator mount and track  from Hook1. Check that site out and see how it is used.
