R.L. Winston 8 1/2' Bamboo Fly Rod = No Longer for Sale

Just got this information from Winston Rod Co.:

Rod #6429 is an 8 ½’  4  1/8 oz. (5 wt.) rod that was finished and sold in May of 1947.  It was built during the time of Lew Stoner, one of two original owners of the R.L. Winston Rod Co. which was started in 1929.  Original owner of this rod is listed as Norman Eisner of San Francisco.

Call her up and she told me that this rod would go for $1,200 - $1,400 purposes of fishing; but up to $2,000 for collectors.

Hey Glen,  That rod and a couple of other "minor toys" and you could join the AI group but then again, there might not be room for that printer.

I hope that's not one of the rods in your RV.     That's one expensive bamboo.  Didn't you promise to give that to me for Christmas?
