On average how much meat can you extract out of a crab?

Put another way, how many crabs does it take to produce 1 lb of crab meat?

Obviously depends on the size. For an average 6" crab, I expect to get about 1 cup of meat out of it.  I just weighed 1 cup of cleaned crabmeat.  It was a little more than 6 ounces (or about 3/8 of a pound).
