Well hell, nobody else has posted a Monday crab hookup for HMB, so I'll run point. For those fotunate enough to have Monday off, and hankering for some crab, we'll be dropping pots in the morning. Company is more than welcome. We'll be launching from the old pier and should be there by 7:30 am.

Happy Veterans Day to all, but a special thank you to all those who served. All my best.

Hhhmmm. I've been wanting to try crabbing from my yak for a while now but wanted to go out with some peeps who know the spots. I don't have Monday off but I might consider calling in sick. I'll check back in on Sunday and let you know if I'll be attending. I've got a couple promar foldables and some hoop nets. I'll go grab some bait in case I decide to attend.

Easy limits were to be had (a friendly pedal-monkey finished before we even dropped our first pot), but our party of three wrapped it up when we had 21 crabs we deemed worthy of a boiling bath. We tossed back anything smaller than commercial size with plenty of jumbos in the mix. Curiously, a couple old, stinky, freezer-burned salmon heads caught more crab than fresh mackerel. Go figure.

It was such a nice day on the water that I took some time to experiment in tight to the shore. The shallows were chock full of undersize dungies, while our deepest drops out to 45 feet produced the biggest crabs. Guess all those big crabs I was accidentally pulling out while surf-perching the San Mateo coast last month were an anomaly. Now I know. Now it's your turn. Get out there and git you some!
