If you really want to bring trailer I'd say launch and pay at boat ramp

I'm going to get there about 0615 to setup and launch at first safe light.

Looks like too much weight in the pot but that's a personal preference

You shouldn't need any weight. I use the super light promars and they dont walk. Just have an additional 10-15% rope to depth.

You shouldn't need any weight. I use the super light promars and they dont walk. Just have an additional 10-15% rope to depth.

you only really need weight in deep water and rough seas, the places we crab normally have neither. but I do have a promar with a few pounds in it ive been experimenting with and so far end result is the same all my promars catch crab.

Really? I added some weight (two metal bars on each) to my promars per instructions from an article on this board. I guess I'll cut them off tonight. I sure hope you're right cus it'll make the ride much lighter.

I plan to use chicken thighs in them plastick containers with holes on the sides. Any suggestions for better bait?
