I have a 2011 Prowler 13

I have tried a couple of methods, and I am now considering buying a fish bag to put under the rod pod in the hull. Is this a dumb idea, and if so, what are my options. I do mostly rock fishing, and can't see myself in a lake anytime soon.

Thanks.

for rockfish I just use a game clip and periodically dunk the whole stringer in the water.  On hot days I carry a burlap sack to put over them.

It doesn't get that hot on the ocean most NCAL days so a wet burlap bag works well. Down south, more guys use fish bags. They make them with reusable ice blocks which is nice. Here are advantages and disadvantages:

Advantages:
1. Can chill catch with ice onboard
2. Can bleed fish without getting blood on the kayak or in the water
3. Easy to clean (some)

Disadvantages
1. Expensive (up to $150)
2. Which size, small or large?

I have one and don't use it otw. I keep it in my truck and use when I drive home. As Scott said. Splash some water on them every so often.

Sounds good. Where do you put them while fishing? In the rear? In the foot wells? I had a burlap bag with 8 rock slung over my bow, and a "furbag" damn near tipped me over trying to steal the bag. Do you ever put the bag in the hull?

Thanks.

Tankwell. I carry two clips so on good days I can divide the load

It is obvious that I need to attend one of the ncka organized fishing weekends just to see how it's all supposed to be done.

Dont assume the because someone else did it, that it's the best way, after all this is what gets most lemmings killed.  Certainly avoid what I do, which is mostly madness.

Go for the food, stay for the fishing!
