Sooooo, I'm a mechanic and had a salesman come in with this system on his vehicle  ([email protected])
Being a skeptic, I looked over this bubbling water filled box and hose that went to the air box on the car and thought BS! Smoke and mirrors! That can't be producing enough hydrogen to do anything to mileage ect... So being sooo very intelligent, I said to the (new) sales guy, hey lets pull this hose of and start the car then light it off and see if it makes flame ect... (I figured a little puff if anything)  :smt005 Well much to my surprise it did go bang (big bang!!!) and cracked the plastic water tank! (BANG!!!) They had NO BACK FLOW DEVICE!  :smt012 This thing produced hydrogen at an alarming rate! I was able to put it on the smog machine with it off and on and see a difference in tailpipe emissions. After helping him replace the tank and get the system working again :smt044 I advised him to get a one way flow device ASAP or it could blow at anytime the car backfires... Does it work, yep, do I think I'll get one... Probably, I'll put one on my big van soon 15 to 28 mpg est jump... Anyone else playing with this system yet? (DON'T LIGHT IT WITH A MATCH :smt044 :smt044 :smt044 ) I was impressed and that is saying a lot...  :smt005
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

seperating hydrogen from water is not new.  When I was in JR high we did somehting like that for a science class and yes it made a bang, not much of one as it was a small experiment.  But it proved possible.   By the way how much is this system?

I'm a mechanic as well and have played a little with these systems a little. AC transit has a dozen or so buses that run off hydrogen. Very scary highly pressurized hydrogen(they pump the hydrogen into tanks they don't create it.) other than that they seem the way of the future. They take the high presure stored fuel and dial down the presure to about 12 psi and run it through a mixer an a butterfly similar to the throttle body injected gas engine of the 90's. long way to go yet I think but definately something I keep an eye on.
