I feel like I am starting all over again, probably because I am. I have been Bass fishing for about 10 years but this year ya'll got me going on Salmon.  Okay, I went with the tackle I have but it really isn't the right stuff.  Starting with the pole, I have been using 6+ foot baitcasters that are Medium-Heavy action.  I have a couple spinners the same size and they are loaded with 10# test mono.  I don't think 10# is enough but to go heavier I have to go to braid because of the size of the reels.  Could someone (or lots of someones) give me an idea of what to use.  Also, since these are lighter than the lures I have, I need to know some smaller lures that I can throw on spinners.  I have decided that spinners are the way for me to go from a kayak, baitcasters are a little too difficult from the sitting position.  Thank you all so much in advance.  :fish

I use all my same stuff I use with bass on salmon.

I have a couple 7'6" MH rods paired with baitcasting reels spooled with 15 lb test and 12 lb test respectively and cast spinners all day with no problems.

My buddies throw with a spinning rod and they are 7' MH rods with 10/12 lb test spooled on the reels.  They do use a short 15 lb section of leader due to the teeth on salmon.

In a kayak you really don't need to worry about line capacity as the fish will just pull you along.
