For Black Bass fishing Bang Crawfish Spray and Sardine Super Gel.  Salmon and Trout Anise is always applied to the lure.

I try to match the scent of my bait/lure to what my bait is. My bait may be mimicking shad, or a trout, or a crawdad ect. Sometimes I inject oil into frozen baits. Anchovy oil for anchovies Herring oil for Herring and so on. I never use scents when fishing for Sturgeon though. I wonder how a bottle of scent left open in a crab trap would do...

I've heard good things about it.  Was looking to pick up a bottle this season and giving it a try.

I've never used scents for bass fishing or any fishing for that matter until recently when I tried using some pro cure gel on my swimbaits for rocks/lings.  Haven't used it enough times to judge whether it makes a difference or not.

I also don't really see a point in using it for black bass as they don't really rely on sense of smell when looking for food. I guess it may help to use them on plastics and such where they may inhale it and spit it out before you can set the hook.  Most of the time I am using reaction baits and don't believe scents would make any difference on those anyways.

Tout: Anise, or as appropriate for bait.  I have also had succcess with Trophy trout and Carp spit.
Bass: Garlic (my plastic highlighter is garlic scented)
River Salmon: Herring, Krill, Anchovy, Kenai Cocktail
Kokanee: Bloody Tuna or Kokanee cocktail
Rockfish: Herring, Anchovy, Sardine, Krill, squid (whatever bait is in the water)

I prefer oils to gels.
