First time kayak fishing.  Fun time with rockfish and croaker action in the kelp beds.  Caught 2 of each, lost about 5 including a beautiful vermillion (will use the net from now on) and one I never saw - had the pole doubled over and pulled the tip into the water.  8lb test was twanging and finally snapped.  Frozen squid / frozen anchovies both working.  A couple of dolphins and a seal to keep us company.  Can't wait to come back -

Congrats and thanks for sharing!

Sincerely,

ps...beef up that line to 20-30 lb braid and you'll be able to turn those Lings away from the rocks and get em out of the kelp a little easier.  :smt001

My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

Thanks for the welcome.  I will definitely have at least 20# next time - had 3 others break line by going into the kelp.  A great time and I am definitely hooked.
