I got my Hobie i-comfort seat today and decided to share a little bit about it for you all. I know theres lots of options when it comes to kayak seats. I'll be the first to admit the Hobie seat can leave you wanting more. Ive used several different seat cousins, hell I've even used kneeling pads from the garden center at Walmart, but this is by far the cleanest option.
First you take your regular Hobie seat

locate the roll pin that holds the seat posts together

Push the pin out and remove the seat posts

remove regular seat base, its Velcro'd to the back

align the holes on the i-comfort seat base with the seat back

reinstall the seat posts

inflate and enjoy your time on the water.

I think the best part of this seat pad is the cleanness of the install. Its simple, clean, and comfortable.
I haven't had the opportunity to put it through a whole day on the water yet but hope to soon.

you could put the old seat bottom under the new cushion to double your pleasure

Is the Hobie i-comfort seat puncture resistant to sharp hooks?

don't think so, I try my best to keep sharp hooks away from my seat area.

not to knock hobie or anything, but i bought one of these instead of blowing the $47

http://www.rei.com/product/845302/rei-sit-pad, and i used a 20% coupon, so it was like $18 including tax.

i didn't try to attach it to my seat, but it doesn't slide around too much, and its significantly cheaper than the i-comfort.  i think it helps with comfort significantly.
